Executive Board of International Draughts Federation IDF-FMJD Section-64 discussed the initiative of the Russian and Uzbekistan Draughts Federations and decided for the first time, experimentally, to hold in Bulgaria together with World Youth Championship 2014 in the age groups U23, U19, U16, U13 and U10 — World Youth Championship among boys and girls born in 2006 and younger (U8). Major League of Belarussian Men and Women Championships ended. Championships was held in Minsk from April 3th to April 11th. Competitions was held by the system of micro-matches from two games, time control: 45 minutes for each participant before the end of the game plus 15 seconds per move. The 34th Portuguese Individual National Championship (Preliminary) in draughts-64 was held from 04th to 06th April at Hotel INATEL Santa Maria da Feira. Time control 90 minutes. José Carlos Anjos won. First 8 players with Manuel Vaz Vieira and Tiago Manuel will participate in the final. See  Rules, Program, Results.

Belarussian Youth Championship among boys and girls in age groups 10, 13, 16, 19 years was held in Borisov from March 24th to March 30th in two programs: Blitz and Classic. 126 players took part in competitions. You can see results of Blitz HERE, Classic program HERE and Photo HERE

Russian Youth Championship among boys and girls in age groups 8, 10, 13 years ended. Women Championship of Moldova was held from 18 to 23 March in Chisinau. International Grandmaster, former world champion Elena Skovitina became champion. Cristina Zaruba took 2nd place and young Șleahovskaya Ana took 3rd place.  See results  HERE  and PHOTO

Ukrainian Youth Championship among boys and girls was held in age groups 10, 13, 16, 19, 23 years  in three programs: Blitz, Rapid and Classic. Total 101 players took part in competitions. Championship in age groups 13, 19  years was held  from March 2nd to March 09th in Melitopol. See results HERE  Championship in age groups 10, 16, 23  years was held  from March 16th to March 23th in Ivano-Frankovsk. Calendar of events 2014 updated. Calendar of the national championships added. We ask the national federations to send date and venue for draughts-64 national championships 2014. Competitions will be included in the calendar of national championships.
