The International Draughts Federation (IDF) informs you that given the current problems and uncertainties facing the whole world in connection with COVID-19, the difficult epidemiological situation in many countries, government restrictions and lack of communication between countries, the International Draughts Federation (IDF) made a decision:
A) To cancel the following competitions in draughts-64 in Bulgaria in August 2020:
– Personal-team Youth World Championship among boys and girls under 27, 20, 17, 14, 11 and 9 years old.
– World Team Championship among boys and girls.
– World Team Championship among men and women.
– World Championship among veterans.
– Stage of the World Cup – International competition “Bulgaria-2020”.
With the improvement of the epidemiological situation and the opening of communication between countries, these competitions may be held in another country in October-November 2020. Now we are considering possible options.
B) To postpone the European Draughts-64 Championship among men and women planned in Jõgeva (Estonia) from September 11-20, 2020 to June 4-13, 2021.
If the epidemiological situation allows the competition to be held in October-November 2020, the European Championship among men and women will be held in the other place.
In this case, another significant competition will be held in Jõgeva (Estonia) from 4 to 13 June 2021.
