Regulations of the World Cup 2022-2023

 

1. Goals and objectives

1.1. Competitions are held for the purpose of draughts in the world.

1.2. The objectives of the World Cup are:

– improving sports mastery;
– fulfillment of norms of international titles;
– determination of best players;
– selection for the official competitions in 2024;
– strengthening the friendly relations between the draughts players from different countries.

2. Competition organizers

2.1. Overall management of the organization of competitions carried out by:

– International Draughts Federation (IDF), hereinafter IDF
– The organizers of each stage of the World Cup.

2.2. Direct holding of competitions shall the Main panel of arbiters approved by the IDF Board.

Changes and inclusion in the World Cup 2022-2023 of other programs and stages are possible (at least 6 stages in total).

4. Participants

All players regardless of gender, age and rating, who have registered in the established order, are allowed to participate at all stages of competitions. The number of participants representing the country is unlimited.

5. Requirements for participants

5.1. Participants must comply with the IDF Rules of the game and competitions in draughts-64 and Regulations of the World Cup stages.

5.2. Participants must comply with the Code of Ethics.

5.3. Participants must be present in the tournament hall, opening and closing ceremonies in compliance with the dress code. In the absence of the closing ceremony, participants are deprived of official awards. Awards are not sent and are not transmitted.

6. System of competitions

6.1. Competitions are personal.

6.2. Competitions are held in accordance with the IDF Rules of the game and competitions in draughts-64.

6.3. The system of holding and time control at every stage are established of the panel of arbiters.

6.4. Norms of international titles are established in competitions.

7. Determination of winners

7.1. Places in the competition are determined at each stage and in each program by the highest total of points scored by the participants. Participants receive for a win – 2 points, for a draw – 1 point and for a loss – 0 points.

7.2. In case of equality of points for two or more participants, the participants’ places are determined in accordance with the rules of the competition.

7.3. At each stage in each program winners and prize-winners are determined among men and women, and also, depending on the number of participants, among Juniors U20 (boys and girls), boys and girls and veterans (60+).

8. Summary of the World Cup.

8.1. In the World Cup 2022-2023, a separate summing up of the results for men and women is held.

8.2. In each stage of the World Cup in each program, participants receive points for their places, which go to the overall standings of the World Cup.

8.3. Separate scoring is done for men and women.

8.3.1. Points for occupied places in each competition of each stage of the World Cup, men:

8.3.2 Points for occupied places in each competition of each stage of the World Cup, women:

8.4. The results of the World Cup 2022-2023 are summed up after the end of the last stage by the sum of points for occupied places in all programs of the World Cup stages played separately for men and women.

8.5. In case of equality of points for two or more participants, the places of participants are determined by the highest place occupied in one of the programs. In case of equality of this indicator – by the highest place occupied in another competition, etc.

9. Awarding

9.1. The winners of the World Cup 2022-2023 are awarded the title:

– “The winner of the World Cup 2022-2023 in Draughts-64”
– “The winner of the World Cup 2022-2023 in Draughts-64 among women”

9.2. The winners of the World Cup 2022-2023 among men and among women are awarded with cup, medal and diploma. The participants who took 2nd and 3rd places are awarded with medals and diplomas.

9.3. Participants who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the overall standings of World Cup 2022-2023 receive the title of “International Grandmaster”. Participants who took 4th-6th places receive the title of “International Master”.

9.4. Participant who took 1st place in the World Cup 2022-2023 among women receives the title of “Woman International Grandmaster”. Womens who took 2nd and 3rd places receive the title of “Women International Master”.

9.5. Winners and prize-winners of the World Cup 2022-2023 stages receive titles in accordance with the IDF Regulations for the assignment of international titles.

9.6. Prize-winners of the World Cup 2022-2023 among men and women are allowed to participate in the World Championship 2024.

10. Finances

10.1. Costs at each stage:

– For the competition; rental of gaming halls (availability of Internet access required), production of attributes, information and advertising materials; awards (cups, medals, diplomas, prize fund at least 2100 USD); payment of work of panel of arbiters and staff; travel costs; computer software – at the expenses of the host organizations on the ground;

– Admission: accommodation and meals for at least 6 foreign participants, 2 IDF representatives and Main Arbiter – at the expenses of the immediate conducting organizations;

– Costs of all other participants (accommodation, meals, travel expenses, visas, etc.) – at the expenses of the sending organizations or the participants themselves;

10.2. Costs for the awarding in the overall standings of World Cup 2022-2023 (cups, medals and diplomas) – at the expenses of IDF.
