International Draughts Federation (IDF) and the Draughts Federation of Armenia in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions in 2018 conducted from May 27 (arrival day) till June 3, 2018 (departure day) in the capital of Armenia Yerevan International competition in draughts-64 “Armenia – 2018”. Competitions were held in two program: Blitz and Classic.

03-06-2018 International competitions in draughts-64 “Armenia – 2018” are completed. The competitions were held for the first time in Armenia and received a wide public response. The tournament was covered in the press and on television, spectators and fans constantly came to look at the game. In addition to tournament the participants remembered the holiday dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the First Republic of Armenia, an excursion to the sights of Armenia, the beautiful city of Yerevan, the friendly atmosphere at the tournament and memorable prizes and souvenirs from the organizers.
02-06-2018 Blitz program of the International competitions in draughts-64 “Armenia – 2018” competitions was held today. The winner of the Blitz program became international master Ruslan Pescherov (Russia). International master Dmitry Melnikov (Russia) took second place. IDF master Nshan Alaverdyan (Armenia) took third place. IDF Master Anna Filipenko became the best among women.
01-06-2018 Classic program of the International competitions in draughts-64 “Armenia – 2018” completed. International master and national grandmaster Dmitry Melnikov (Russia) became the winner of the competition with 100% result. Famous Armenian master Marat Gulyan took second place with a score of 6.5 points from 8. At the third line of the standings with a score of 6 points is the international master Ruslan Peshcherov (Russia). Alisa Shiryaeva became the best among women.

28-05-2018 Yesterday evening in the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall Opening of the competitions was held. Today at 10.00 Classic program started. 38 players from 5 countries participated. Competitions are held on the Swiss system in 8 rounds, according to the system of micro-matches from two games, with the draw of moves and positions according to the official table (745 positions). 24-05-2018 International competitions in draughts-64 “Armenia-2018” will start in three days. Competitions will be held in the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall. The organizers provided for the participants of tournament an excursion and a sports program with a visit to the Olympic pool, various prizes and souvenirs.
Competitions will be held in two program: Blitz and Classic. The prize fund of the tournament will be at least 1000 euros.
