The world champion, international grandmaster Elena Skovitina won Championship of Moldova 2016 among women. The championship was held from 15 to 21 February 2016 in the capital of Moldova city of Chisinau. Christina Zaruba took second place, Anna Shlyahovskaya took third place on additional criteria.
