Traditional Draughts Tournament “White Nights-2018” in St. Petersburg completed

Under the auspices of the International Draughts Federation (IDF) Traditional Open Draughts Tournament “White Nights-2018” was held from July 21 (arrival day) to July 29 (departure day) 2018 in St. Petersburg (Russia). Within the framework of the competition there were an open tournament for men and women and competitions among among boys and girls in the age groups 2002-2004, 2005-2007, 2008-2009, 2010 and younger, having the status of All-Russian competitions. Information about competition

Place, date

Competitions are held in St. Petersburg State budget educational institution “SSHOR in Chess and Draughts” (Chigorin club) at: Bolshaya Konyushennaya str. 25, St. Petersburg (Russia) from July 21, (arrival day) till July 29, 2018 (departure day).

Credentials Committee will work July 21, from 16.00 till 20.00.
All participants must have medical insurance for the period of competition.

Participants

All participants regardless of gender, age and rating, which registered in accordance with this regulation and paid the tournament fee, are allowed to participate in the traditional draughts tournament “White Nights-2018”.

Participants in age groups 2002-2004, 2005-2007, 2008-2009, 2010 and younger are allowed to participate in open competitions among boys and girls (held according to special Regulations).

Team standing is determined in the youth competitions. The composition of teams is 3 boys and 1 girl. Girls can play instead of boys.

Participants must comply with the dress code.

Participants must to be on the closing ceremony of the competition, in breach of the item participants lose all official awards. Awards will not be sent or transferred.

Tournament regulations

Competitions are held on the official rules of the IDF.

Traditional open draughts tournament “White Nights-2018”

Competitions are held in two programs: Classic and Blitz.

In each program, an open tournament for men and women is held by the Swiss system, micro-matches from two games, with draw according to the official table (745 positions), obligatory in both games of micro-match.

Time control:
Blitz: 3 minutes till the end of the game plus 2 seconds on each move;
Classic program: 40 minutes till the end of the game plus 10 seconds on each move, break between games is 5 minutes. Record of the game is obligatory for all participants until the end of the game.

Youth competitions

Youth competitions are held in classic Russian draughts without draw of the moves.
Time control: 45 minutes for each participant before the end of the game, break between games is 5 minutes.

Determination of the winners

Places of players in each program are determined by the biggest amounts of points. In case of equal points of two or more participants the additional criteria are established by the panel of arbiters according to the regulations of the competition.

In each program winners among men, women, veterans 60 years and older (born in 1957 and older), juniors up to 20 year (born in 1999-2001) are determined.

Youth competitions

Places of players are determined separately among boys and girls in the age groups 2002-2004, 2005-2007, 2008-2009, 2010 and younger.

For team standing places are determined by the biggest amount of points scored by all team members.

In case of equal points of two or more teams places of the teams are determined by the least sum of places occupied by all team members.

Awards

Traditional open draughts tournament “White Nights-2018”
In each program, participants, who took 1st place among men, women, veterans 60 years and older (born in 1957 and older), juniors under 20 years old (born in 1999-2001) are awarded with cup, medal and diploma.
Participants, who took 2nd and 3rd place in these categories, are awarded with medal anddiploma.

The norms of international titles are established in the tournament.
The prize fund of competitions is not less than 150 000 Russian rubles.
Additional awards will be announced by organizers at the opening ceremony.

Youth competitions

Participants, who took 1st place separately among boys and girls in the age groups 2002-2004, 2005-2007, 2008-2009, 2010 and younger, are awarded with cups, medals and diplomas. Participants, who took 2nd and 3rd place in the age groups, are awarded medals and diplomas.

The team, took 1st place in team standing,is awarded with cupand diploma, it participants are awarded with diplomas. Teams, took 2nd and 3rd places and it participants are awarded with diplomas.

Finances

All costs of participants paid by sending organizations or yourself.
The costs for organizing the competition and paid by the Organizing Committee.

Accommodation and meals

Accommodation can be available in different mini-hotels near the venue of competition. Accommodation is booking independently. Organizers may to help with the cheapest options if necessary.

Tournament fees

Each participant of the competitions should pay organizational tournament fee at the day of arrival:
Classic program 2 400 rub (~32 euro), for participants from St. Petersburg – 1600 rub;
Blitz – 600 rub.
In youth competitions – 1000 rub.

28-07-2018 Traditional open draughts tournament and the All-Russian competition “White Nights-2018” have been completed. International Grandmaster Eugeny Kondrachenko in the last round of the classic program of the Traditional Tournament  won international master Ruslan Pescherov and became the winner of the tournament.

28-07-2018 In youth all-Russian competitions young Vladislav Mironov (born in 2009) from the Moscow region became the winner of the general tournament among boys and girls under 17 years old. The team of the Moscow region became the winner of the team classification, in which 17 teams participated.


27-07-2018 Before the last round, three sportsmen with the result of 12 points are in the lead of the classic program of the Traditional tournament. There are international masters Artem Ageikin and Vitaliy Egolin from Nizhny Novgorod, as well as international grandmaster Evgeny Kondrachenko (Belarus). The group of pursuers of 6 people has 11 points each.

Dementii Kudriavtsev from St. Petersburg leads in the All-Russian youth competitions with the result of 14 points. Vladislav Mironov (Moscow region) and Vladimir Maksimov (Murmansk region) have 13 points each.

In the youth team classification the team of the Moscow region leads.


24-07-2018 After four rounds of the classic program the leaders are:

In traditional open tournament – International Masters Artem Ageikin from Nizhny Novgorod and Grigory Getmansky from Tula.

In All-Russian youth competitions – Dementii Kudriavtsev from St. Petersburg.

Today afternoon, a sightseeing bus tour of St. Petersburg was held for participants of the competitions.


22-07-2018 According schedule Blitz started at 17.30. 72 players from 8 countries participated. Competitions were held on the Swiss system in 9 rounds, according to the system of micro-matches from two games, with the draw of moves and positions according to the official IDF table (745 positions), time control 3 ‘+ 2″ for each participant until the end of the game.

The winner of the Bitz program was International Grandmaster Mikhail Fedorov from Nizhny Novgorod. International Grandmaster from Belarus Evgeny Kondrachenko took second place. International Master Grigory Getmansky from Tula was the third.

International Grandmaster, ex-world champion Natalia Fedorova from Nizhny Novgorod became the best among women.
Igor Palguev from Nizhny Novgorod became the best among junior to 20 years.
International Grandmaster Nikolai Abatsiev from Moscow became the best among veterans (60+).

22-07-2018 Traditional open draughts tournament and the All-Russian competition “White Nights-2018” (Russian draughts) started today. Opening of the competition took place at 12.00. At the opening, Vladimir Langin, the President IDF,  congratulated a number of players with international titles and awarded them diplomas and signs.

After opening, Classic program of the Traditional open tournament and All-Russian competitions started. About  150 players from 8 countries, representing 3 continents – Europe, Asia and Africa; as well as 15 regions and 20 cities of Russia, came to the start of the competition.

Competitions are held on the Swiss system in 9 rounds, according to the system of micro-matches from two games:

Open tournament – with a draw of moves and positions according to the official IDF table (745 positions), time control 40’+ 10″ for each participant until the end of the game.

Youth competitions are held without a draw of moves with time control of 45′ for each participant until the end of the game.
