Traditional tournaments in Saarbrücken, Germany

From 20 to 22 November 2020 in Saarbrücken (Germany) the following traditional draughts competitions will be held:
a) 11th German Open Championship (November 21 – 22, 2020), Brazilian draughts.
b) 15th International Saarbrücken – Open 100 Draughts Tournament (November 20 – 21, 2020).

1.) Date:

The following Draughts tournaments take place in Saarbrücken (Germany) from the 20th to the 22th November 2020:

  1. 15th Saarbrücken–Open Draughts 100 Tournament.
  2. 11th Open German Draughts-64 Championship (Brazilian Version).

2.) Organizer:

Double room 31,50 € per person (overnight and breakfast)
4-bed-room 25,40 € per person (overnight and breakfast)

Registrations for participants who need an entrance visa, should be submitted until the 30th September 2020 including country, name and birthday of the player, also the number of the foreign passport (if a visa is necessary).

6.) Approach:

By train: Train station is Saarbrücken-HBF (main station), from there by bus line 124 to the station „Prinzenweiher“.

By car: Autobahn A 6 Mannheim-Saarbrücken, exit St. Ingbert-West, passing the University, direction city, next to the Prinzenweiher.

7.) Inscription fee:

Adults 15 Euro, juniors up to and incl. 18 years – 10 Euro. For the Open German Draughts 64 Championship – 10 Euro.

8.) Play mode:

7 rounds by Swiss System, for the Saarbrücken Open Draughts Tournament and the Open German Draughts-64 Championship.

9.) Game speed:

30 min. + 5 seconds per move (Fischer System) per person until the end of the game. At the Open German Draughts-64 Championship 25 min. + 3 sec. per move.

Friday, 20th November 2020 until 16:45 h – Arrival of the players and registration
17:00 h: Opening of the tournament
17:30 – 19:00 h: 1st round;     19:00 – 20:30 h: 2nd round;     20:30 – 22:00 h: 3rd round

Saturday, 21th November 2020

08:30 – 10:00 h: 4th round;     10:00 – 11:30 h: 5th round;     12:30 – 14:00 h: 6th round
14:00 – 15:30 h: 7th round;     16:00 h:  Award ceremony

17:00 h: Opening of the tournament
17:30 – 18:30 h: 1st round;      18:30 – 19:30 h: 2nd round;
19:30 – 20:30 h: 3rd round;      20:00 – 21:30 h: 4th round

Sunday, 22th November 2020

09:00 – 10:00 h: 4th round;      10:00 – 11:00 h: 5th round;      11:00 – 12:00 h: 6th round;
12:00 – 13:00 h: 7th round;      13:30 h: Award ceremony, then departure of the participants.

This schedule can still be changed.

11.) Prize money and other prizes:

Draughts-100: with 30 participants € 200 – 100 – 50 guaranteed. Best woman 30,00 €.
The Open German Draughts 64 Championship: with 20 participants € 100 – 50 – 30 guaranteed.
The best 3 players and the best woman, the best senior and the best junior in both tournaments received cups and certificates.
