World Youth Championship in Bulgaria completed

World Youth Championship in draughts-64 among boys and girls traditionally was held in Sports Complex Aqualife, Kranevo, Bulgaria from August 21 to September 1, 2022.

World Youth Championship was held separately for boys and girls in three disciplines: classic game, blitz and rapid; and in six age groups.

31-08-2022 World Youth Draughts-64 Championship is over. In the evening, the closing ceremony of the competition took place, ending with the traditional festive fireworks.

More than 280 players from 18 countries took part in all draughts-64 events in Bulgaria.

The opening of draughts-64 events in Bulgaria was debutant of the competitions – a young player from Zambia William Christian Chinzewe, who became the champion in the classic and rapid programs of the World Youth Championship in the age group of cadets-boys under 17 years old. He also successfully performed in adult competitions – he became a bronze medalist in the World Team Championship as part of the Zambian national team, and won silver and bronze medals in the World Cup competitions. We expect new achievements from him at the forthcoming World Men’s Championship in Georgia.

31-08-2022 The classic program of the World Youth Draughts-64 Championship completed.

124 players from 11 countries took part in the competition. Representatives of 6 countries won medals.

22-08-2022 In the evening at 20.30. opening ceremony was neld. The participants of the competitions were welcomed by the President of the International Draughts Federation Vladimir Langin; Vice-President of the International Draughts Federation, Vice-President of the Asian Draughts Confederation and President of the Uzbekistan Draughts Federation Yunus Aminjonov; Vice-President of the Zambia Draughts Federation Dingswayo Jere and Secretary General of the Zambia Draughts Federation Raphael Phiri.

President of the International Draughts Federation Vladimir Langin awarded the players with diplomas for the international titles.

22-08-2022 Rapid program of the World Youth Championship took place today.

126 players from 11 countries took part in the competitions. Representatives of 7 countries won medals.

The sensation of the championship was the victory of a young player from Zambia William Christian Chinzewe in the age group of boys under 17 years old.

21-08-2022  Today the participants of the World Youth Championship in Draughts-64, the World Championship among Veterans and the World Cup were registered.

Representatives of 15 countries will take part in all competitions.

For the first time representatives of Zambia will take part in the World Youth Championship. Among them is the young champion of Zambia William Christian Chinzewe, who already has victories over famous grandmasters.

The grand opening of all competitions will take place on August 22 at 20.30.

On August 22, the Rapid program of the World Youth Championship will be held.
On August 23, Blitz program will be held.
The Classic game will be held from 24 to 31 August.
The beginning of all competitions of the World Youth Championship from 10.00.

29-05-2022 World Youth Championship in draughts-64 among boys and girls traditionally will be held in Sports Complex Aqualife, Kranevo, Bulgaria from August 21 to September 1, 2022.

World Youth Championship will be held separately for boys and girls in three disciplines: classic game, blitz and rapid; and in six age groups:

Juniors – boys and girls up to 27 years old (born in 1996-2002);
Juniors – boys and girls up to 20 years old (born in 2003-2005);
Cadets – boys and girls up to 17 years old  (born in 2006-2008);
Mini-cadets – boys and girls up to 14 years old (born in 2009-2011);
Hopes – boys and girls up to 11 years old (born in 2012-2013);
Mini-hopes – boys and girls up to 9 years old (born in 2014 and younger).

Offset of the World Championship among students (boys and girls) is established in the Championship.

During the World Youth Championship seminar for arbiters will be held.
