International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the calendar of the competitions in 2017 holds from August 23, (arrival day) till September 02, 2017 (departure day) at the Sports Complex «Aqualife», Kranevo (Bulgaria) World Seniors Championship in draughts-64 among men born in 1966-1957; men born in 1956 years and older; women born in 1966 years and older.
International Grandmaster Ion Dosca (Moldova) won Blitz among men and Woman IDF Master Zinaida Alexandrova (Israel) won Blitz among women. International Grandmaster Arunas Norvayshas (Lithuania) won classical program among men and Julia Kuznetsova (Russia) won classical program among women.

01-09-2017 Classic program of the World Seniors Championship in draughts-64 is completed.
International grandmaster from Lithuania Arunas Norvayshas won the championship. Yuri Kirillov (Israel) is the best in the standings (60+). Yulia Kuznetsova (Russia) became the best among women.
It is noteworthy that the third place among women was taken by a famous sportswoman, ex-champion of the USSR among women Lyudmila Petrova, who turned 80 in August 2017.

26-08-2017 Classic program of the World Championship among veterans started. 20 players from 10 countries take part in the competition. Among them are international grandmasters – current world champion in Rapid Arunas Norvayshas and ex-world champion Ion Dosca (Moldova).

21-01-2017 Information about Championship
Competitions are held in international (Russian) version of draughts-64 by the system of micro-matches consist of two games in the two types of programs:
Classic – with time control 45 minutes till the end of the game plus 10 seconds per move;
Blitz – with time control 3 minutes till the end of the game plus 2 seconds per move.
All types of the program will be played with draw according to the official table (745 positions).
System of competition is Swiss or Round robin, depending on the number of participants.
Awards
Medals for the 3 first places in each age group and category;
Cups for the 3 first places in each in each age group and category;
Diploma for the 3 first places in each in each age group and category;
Diploma for all participants in classic program;
The prize fund of the championship is at least 1,000 euros.
All participants claimed by national federations are allowed to participate in World Seniors Championship.
Each participant of the competitions should pay at the day of arrival organizational tournament fee: 40 euros. The participant who has paid the fee, are eligible to participate in both programs: classic and blitz.
Hotel accommodation is in 2-3 bed rooms with facilities in the room. Rooms will be booked in the order of receipt of applications. All participants must residence in Sports Complex “Aqua Life” from August 23, till September 02, 2017. In case of violation of this paragraph penalties can be applied.
Package for the accommodation and three-time meals (buffet) from 23 August (dinner) to September 2 (breakfast) 2017 (10 days) for one person is:
three-person occupancy in the building “Aqua Life” – 250 euros;
three-person occupancy in the building “Aqua Life Sport” – 300 euros;
two-person occupancy in the building “Tower” – 350 euros.
All costs for participation in competitions are paid by participants or sending organizations.
