2nd Zambian National Draughts-64 Championship was held from Thursday 19  to Sunday 22 May at Heroes Lodge in Lusaka. The  national team to represent Zambia in the historical 1st African Draughts-64 Championship, which will be held from 22 to 27 July, has finally been selected. 

Personal-team Cup of Ukraine in draughts-64 was held in Dnepr (Dnepropetrovsk) from 14 till 19 of May 2016. Competitions was held in in the premises of chess and draughts club name I.S. Urikh. IDF Board Meeting took place in St. Petersburg May 5, 2016. There was a number of decisions, including the holding of Africa Championship, the World Championships in Bulgaria and the European Championship in Georgia, approved Regulations for assignment of international titles for Arbiters, approved the new international titles for players and referees. European Youth Championship in Draughts-64 was held from 20 (arrival day) to 29 (departure day) April 2016 in St. Petersburg, Russia, at hotel “Okhtinskaya”, Bolsheokhtinsky prospekt d. 4. See results.

French Federation of draughts 64-144 holds 25 and 26 June 2016 in the city of Baume-les-Dames, the first French Open in draughts-64 (Brazilian version). Team championship of Russia among men and women  in three program: rapid, blitz and classic was held from 8 to 15 April in Kolomna near Moscow. Teams from 20 regions of Russia took part in the competition. 

Beginning and secrets of mastery learned from the world draughts-64 champion Sergey Belosheev patients of first Russia’s children’s hospice in St. Petersburg. Master class and a simultaneous game on eight boards was held in the fireplace room on 11 April. The charity event was organized by the Foundation “Russian Draughts”

International grandmaster Evgene Kondrachenko sent  new publication “Missed opportunities”. The publication reviewed interesting opportunities in games with the leading grandmasters of the world.

International Draughts Federation IDF addresses the information to all draughts organizations and fans of draughts-64. 

Participation of Foundation “Russian Draughts” in the European Youth Championship, which starts in St. Petersburg 20th April, includes a complete information support, gift sets for all players and prizes for the winners. The fourth in the ranking of the federal citation Internet newspaper “Fontanka.ru” will be the general information partner of the event.
