1st Stage of World Cup 2016 – International competition “Portugal-2016” ended. Competitions was held from 28th May (arrival day) till 4th June (departure day) 2016 in Setubal (Portugal), which is European City of Sport 2016. International grandmaster Dmitry Tsinman won Classic program and Blitz. Manuel Tiago won Rapid in Portuguese draughts.

Championships of Belarus among men and women was held from 23 till 31 May 2016 in the Republican Center of Olympic training for chess and draughts (Minsk, str. of Marx, 10). Andrey Valyuk won among men. Vera Hvaschinskaya won among women.

2nd Zambian National Draughts-64 Championship was held from Thursday 19  to Sunday 22 May at Heroes Lodge in Lusaka. The  national team to represent Zambia in the historical 1st African Draughts-64 Championship, which will be held from 22 to 27 July, has finally been selected. 

Personal-team Cup of Ukraine in draughts-64 was held in Dnepr (Dnepropetrovsk) from 14 till 19 of May 2016. Competitions was held in in the premises of chess and draughts club name I.S. Urikh. European Youth Championship in Draughts-64 was held from 20 (arrival day) to 29 (departure day) April 2016 in St. Petersburg, Russia, at hotel “Okhtinskaya”, Bolsheokhtinsky prospekt d. 4. See results.

Team championship of Russia among men and women  in three program: rapid, blitz and classic was held from 8 to 15 April in Kolomna near Moscow. Teams from 20 regions of Russia took part in the competition. 

Russian Youth Championships among boys and girls in age groups U8, U10 and U13 was held in Yaroslavl region from 25th March to 3rd April in three programs: Blitz, Rapid and Classic. More then 200 players participated. See final results on the site of Draughts Federation of Russia HERE 

Ukrainian Youth Championship among boys and girls U19, U13, U8 was held in Vinnitsa. 141 player from 15 regions of Ukraine participated. International Master Denis Dudсo won the championship of Moldova among men. World champion among women Elena Scovitina took second place and Cristina Zaruba took third place. Championship was held in Chisinau from 21 to 28 March.
