Championships of Uzbekistan among men, women and youth 23 years and younger were held in Tashkent from 18 to 24 February. Competitions were held in three programs – classical, rapid and blitz. 65 players participated.

The world champion, international grandmaster Elena Skovitina won Championship of Moldova 2016 among women. The championship was held from 15 to 21 February 2016 in the capital of Moldova city of Chisinau. Christina Zaruba took second place, Anna Shlyahovskaya took third place on additional criteria.

Open Championship of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia) in Russian draughts took place in Kazan (Russia) indoors TSSDYUSHSHOR name R.G.Nezhmetdinov from 21 to 23 February 2016. The competition was attended by players from different cities of Tatarstan and the guests of the Samara region, Republics of Bashkortostan and Chuvashia. The competition was attended one of the strongest players of the world, International Grandmaster Oleg Dashkov. 

President IDF Vladimir Langin for the purposes to revive and develop draughts in Kyrgyzstan with the support of Fund “Russian Draughts” visited the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek from 13 to 15 February. As part of the planned activities February 14, Vladimir Langin held a seance of simultaneous game. More information HERE

International grandmaster Evgene Kondrachenko (world vice-champion 2011 in blitz and a bronze medalist of the European Championship 2012) sent the publication of “The January holidays” about training match with the international grandmaster Mikhail Fedorov (bronze medalist of the World Championship 1994, silver medalist of the European Championship 2010 , four-time champion of Russia).
