European Men and Women Draughts-64 Championship

International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the calendar of the competitions in 2020 together with Jõgeva Draughts Club and the Estonian Draughts Union holds from September 11 (arrival day) to September 20, 2020 (departure day) in Kuremaa, Jõgeva region (Estonia) personal-team European Draughts-64 Championship among men and women. Competitions are qualifying for the World Championship 2021. IDF calendar 2020 updated

In the section Events – Calendar 2020 the updated calendar of competitions for 2020 published. Added calendar of national championships. We ask the national federations to send to the IDF office to March 15, 2020 a list of national championships that are not included in the current IDF calendar of national championships. We remind you that the ratings and norms of international titles are calculated only for tournaments included in the IDF calendar.

International Draughts Competition “Miami-open”

Traditional draughts tournament “V. Sokov Memorial” in St. Petersburg completed

From November 30 (arrival day) to December 8 (departure day) 2019 in St. Petersburg (Russia), a traditional open draughts-64 tournament in memory of the legendary St. Petersburg draughts player Vasily Sokov “V. A. Sokov Memorial” is held. As part of the competition, all-Russian competitions are held among men and women, as well as among boys and girls in age groups up to 17, 14, 11 and 9 years old.

Results of the Lithuanian Team Championship and the Lithuanian Blitz Championship

The Lithuanian Team Draughts-64 Championship and Lithuanian Blitz Championship were held from November 22-24 in Bačkonys (Lithuania).

The champion of Lithuania 2019 became the team ŠK “Vitražas” (Vilnius). International Grandmaster Andrei Valiuk (Belarus) became the winner of the Lithuanian Blitz Championship. International Grandmaster Arunas Norvaishas became the champion of Lithuania 2019 in Blitz. (more…)

New IDF Competitions

New competitions are included to the official calendar of the International Draughts Federation (IDF).

In Miami, Florida (USA) from April 3 to 6, 2020 the first ever international draughts-64 competition “Miami-open” will be held. The competition will include tournaments in pool checkers and the international/Russian version of draughts-64.

In Lisbon (Portugal) from October 1 to 7, 2020 the VII TAFISA World Sports Games will be held. As part of the games, tournaments in three types of draughts-64 will be held: Portuguese, Brazilian and Russian. Competitions in draughts-64 will have the status of the Stage of the World Cup 2020.
