In the capital of Latvia, Riga, the National Draughts-64 Championships among men and women in Classic and Rapid game were held. All championships were held according to the international/Russian version of draughts-64.

The finals of the Latvian championships among men and women were held from January 23 to 26. In each championship, 10 participants played in a Robin Round system with a time control of 30’+ 30″.

The champions of Latvia 2020 were the international grandmaster Guntis Valneris among men and IDF master Regina Pironena among women. (more…)

International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the calendar of the competitions in 2020 together with Jõgeva Draughts Club and the Estonian Draughts Union holds from September 11 (arrival day) to September 20, 2020 (departure day) in Kuremaa, Jõgeva region (Estonia) personal-team European Draughts-64 Championship among men and women. Competitions are qualifying for the World Championship 2021. We ask the national federations to send to the IDF office to March 15, 2020 a list of national championships that are not included in the current IDF calendar of national championships. We remind you that the ratings and norms of international titles are calculated only for tournaments included in the IDF calendar.

The national championships among men and women in the Russian and Brazilian versions of draughts-64 ended in Estonia.

Championships of Belarus in draughts-64 among men and women (final) were held from January 24 till February 2, 2020 in the Republican Center of Olympic training for chess and draughts (Minsk, str. of Marks, 10).

International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with Club “The 54th Street/Esquire Barber shop Checker Players” in accordance with the calendar of the IDF competitions 2020 holds in Miami (USA) International Draughts Competition “Miami-open 2020”. This first ever draughts-64 tournament in America will be held at the premises of the Little Haiti Cultural Center, 212 NE 59th Terrace Miami, Fl 33137 (USA) from April 2 to 7, 2020. Among them are the IDF calendar 2020, the Regulation of the World Cup 2020, the Rules of official competitions in draughts-64 and the Regulations for assignment of international titles. From November 30 (arrival day) to December 8 (departure day) 2019 in St. Petersburg (Russia), a traditional open draughts-64 tournament in memory of the legendary St. Petersburg draughts player Vasily Sokov “V. A. Sokov Memorial” is held. As part of the competition, all-Russian competitions are held among men and women, as well as among boys and girls in age groups up to 17, 14, 11 and 9 years old.

The Lithuanian Team Draughts-64 Championship and Lithuanian Blitz Championship were held from November 22-24 in Bačkonys (Lithuania).

The champion of Lithuania 2019 became the team ŠK “Vitražas” (Vilnius). International Grandmaster Andrei Valiuk (Belarus) became the winner of the Lithuanian Blitz Championship. International Grandmaster Arunas Norvaishas became the champion of Lithuania 2019 in Blitz. (more…)
