Tournaments in Saarbrücken, Germany

Following Draughts tournaments was held in Saarbrücken (Germany) from 15th to 17th November 2019:
Draughts-64 (Brazilian version): 10th Open German Draughts-64 Championship (15th – 17th November 2019).
Draughts-100: 14th Saarbrücken Open Draughts-100 Tournament (16th November 2019).

International master Philip Vasilevsky (Russia) became the winner of the 10th Open German Draughts-64 Championship. IDF master Alexander Bleicher became the champion of Germany 2019.

3rd French Draughts-64 Open Championship completed

3rd French Open Draughts-64 Championship (Russian version) was held from 9th to 11th November 2019 in Toulouse (France). Competitions were held according to the Swiss system in 7 rounds with a time control of 25 minutes + 5 seconds per move.

The international master Philip Vasilevsky (Russia) became the winner of the 3rd French Open Draughts-64 Championship. IDF master Pierre Monet became the champion of France 2019.

IDF leadership took part in the 26th TAFISA World Congress and General Assembly

The 26th TAFISA World Congress was held in Tokyo (Japan) from November 13 to 17, 2019 and brought together more than 600 participants from 78 countries. Read more HERE

On 15 November, during the 26th TAFISA World Congress, the TAFISA General Assembly was held. General Assembly approved the Malaysia Sport for All Association (MASFA) and the city of Kuching, Sarawak (Malaysia) as organizers of the 1st TAFISA Asian Sport for All Games 2022. The German Olympic Sport Confederation (DOSB) was confirmed as the host of the 28th TAFISA World Congress 2023 in Düsseldorf. The General Assembly also elected the Russian Olympic Committee to host the 8th TAFISA World Sport for All Games 2024 in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia). (more…)

1st Japan Draughts-64 Tournament was held in Tokyo

International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with the Japan Draughts Association (JCDA) in accordance with the Calendar of Competitions for 2019 held the 1st International Japan Draughts-64 Tournament from November 13 to 18, 2019 in Tokyo. Competitions were held in 2 categories: Blitz and Rapid. The winner of the Blitz tournament was the international master from Ukraine Oleg Shapunov. The results of the 2019 World Cup are summed up. In accordance with the Regulations, the 2019 World Cup held separately summing up in three categories: classic game, Rapid and Blitz. The International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with Portuguese Draughts Federation in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions 2019 from 2nd November (arrival day) to 9th November (departure day) 2019 holds in Portimão (Portugal) Final of World Cup 2019 in draughts-64 – International competition “Portugal-2019” and other events in draughts-64.

IDF Master Anton Van Berkel from Netherlands won Blitz and Classic program. Luis Sa from Portugal won Rapid.

IDF calendar 2020 updated

The European Youth Championship will be held in Kobuleti (Georgia) from May 2 to 10, 2020. During the European Youth Championship in Kobuleti (Georgia), from May 4 to 10, 2020, the  Stage of World Cup 2020 will be held.

The European Championship among men and women will be held in Jõgeva (Estonia) from September 11 to 20, 2020.

Standings in all programs of the World Cup 2019 after the 4th stage has been updated. See the current standings HERE. The final stage of the World Cup 2019 will be held in Portimão (Portugal) from 2nd November (arrival day) to 9th November (departure day) 2019. On 2nd November, the traditional match Portugal against the whole world in Portuguese draughts will be held. An invitation for the competition will be published soon.

World Championship among men and women in Sveti Vlas, Bulgaria completed

World Draughts-64 Championship among men and women 2019 was held in Bulgaria, in the city of Sveti Vlas, from September 1 (arrival day) to September 10 (departure day), 2019. World championship was held in three categories: Classic, Rapid and Blitz. 95 players from 34 countries took part in competitions.

Representatives of Belarus, international grandmasters – Ihar Mikhalchenka and Darya Fedarovich became winners of the Rapid among men and women respectively. International grandmaster Dmitry Tsinman (Russia) and international master Yana Yakubovich (Belarus) won Blitz among men and women.
