International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions in 2020 together with Georgian United National Draughts Federation holds from May 2 to May 10, 2020 personal-team European Youth Draughts-64 Championship 2020. Competitions will be held separately for boys and girls in six age groups and in the three types of program: Blitz, Rapid and Classic. Invitation published.

In the capital of Latvia, Riga, the National Draughts-64 Championships among men and women in Classic and Rapid game were held. All championships were held according to the international/Russian version of draughts-64.
The finals of the Latvian championships among men and women were held from January 23 to 26. In each championship, 10 participants played in a Robin Round system with a time control of 30’+ 30″.
The champions of Latvia 2020 were the international grandmaster Guntis Valneris among men and IDF master Regina Pironena among women. (more…)

Championships of Belarus in draughts-64 among men and women (final) were held from January 24 till February 2, 2020 in the Republican Center of Olympic training for chess and draughts (Minsk, str. of Marks, 10).

International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with Club “The 54th Street/Esquire Barber shop Checker Players” in accordance with the calendar of the IDF competitions 2020 holds in Miami (USA) International Draughts Competition “Miami-open 2020”. From November 30 (arrival day) to December 8 (departure day) 2019 in St. Petersburg (Russia), a traditional open draughts-64 tournament in memory of the legendary St. Petersburg draughts player Vasily Sokov “V. A. Sokov Memorial” is held. As part of the competition, all-Russian competitions are held among men and women, as well as among boys and girls in age groups up to 17, 14, 11 and 9 years old.
International Grandmaster Sergey Belosheev won Classic and Blitz program of V. Sokov Memorial. See the results. (more…)
