International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the Calendar of competitions in 2017 holds from 5 to 12 November 2017 in Tbilisi (Georgia)  5th stage of the World Cup 2017 in draughts-64 – International competition “Georgia-2017”. Competitions are held in the hotel “Kalasi”, which successfully hosted European Draughts-64 Championship 2016 among men and women. International grandmaster Dmitry Tsinman won Blitz. International grandmaster Sergei Belosheev won Rapid and Classic program. World Draughts-64 Championship 2017 among men and women is held with the support of the Foundation for Promoting the Development of Draughts Sports “Russian Draughts” from 19^th October (arrival day) till 29^th October (departure day) 2017 in St. Petersburg (Russia) at the hotel “Moscow ****”. Competitions are held separately for men and women in three program: Blitz, Rapid and Classic. Blitz and Classic program are held in International/Russian version of draughts-64. In Blitz, international grandmasters Gavril Kolesov (Russia) won in men and Elena Scovitina (Moldova) won in women.  In Rapid, international grandmasters Ihar Mikhalchenka (Belarus) won in men and Elena Scovitina (Moldova) won in women. September 20, 2017 in St. Petersburg was held a meeting of the Board IDF. Short report of the IDF Board meeting is HERE. The meeting approved the results of the world championships among teams, youth and veterans, held in Bulgaria from August 23 to September 2, 2017; the issues of preparation for the World Championship 2017 were considered; the preliminary calendar of the competitions for 2018 was approved; approved the newly established African Draughts Confederation as the organization responsible for the development of draughts-64 on the African continent under the aegis of IDF; the issues of the current activity of the federation were considered. All national federations must send their calendars of national championships to the IDF office by November 1, 2017 for inclusion in the general calendar of IDF competitions in 2018. We remind you that the calculation of ratings and assignment of international titles will be made only for tournaments included in the official calendar of the International Draughts Federation (IDF) competitions 2018.

Draughts Federation of Russia traditionally conducted in Loo (Sochi) from September 19 (day of arrival) to October 01, 201 Russian Championship in draughts-64 (Russian draughts) among men and women. Championship was held in three program: classic, rapid and blitz. Estonian Blitz and Rapid Championships among men and women  was held 9th and 10th September 2017 in the city of Haapsalu. In Men Championships international grandmaster Arno Uutma won Blitz and Rapid. Piret Viirma won Blitz and Rapid in Women Championships . See results.

Personal-team World Youth Championship in draughts-64 among boys and girls traditionally was held in Sports Complex Aqualife, Kranevo, Bulgaria from 23th August (day of arrival) to 2nd September (departure day) 2017.

Personal Championship was held in three types of program: classic, blitz and rapid; and in six age groups (separately for boys and girls).

International Grandmaster Ion Dosca (Moldova) won Blitz among men and Woman IDF Master Zinaida Alexandrova (Israel) won Blitz among women. International Grandmaster Arunas Norvayshas (Lithuania) won classical program among men and Julia Kuznetsova (Russia) won classical program among women.

International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions in 2017 holds in Kranevo (Bulgaria) World Team’s Championship in draughts-64. Competitions were held in Sports Complex Aqualife (Kranevo, Bulgaria) from 23th August (day of arrival) to 2nd September (departure day) 2017.

Competitions were held separately among men’s and women’s teams in the three types of programs: classic, rapid and blitz.

International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the Calendar of competitions in 2017 conducted from August 14 to August 19, 2017 in Kazan (Russia) the 4th stage of the World Cup 2017 – International competition «IX Cup of information technology». Competitions were held in the premises of the «TSSDYUSHSHOR of R.G. Nezhmetdinov» at the address: Kazan, ul. Butlerova, 7. Competitions were held in two programs: Classic and Blitz.

International Grandmaster from Kazakhstan Mirat Zhekeev won Classic program of the 4th stage of the World Cup. International Grandmaster Sergey Belosheev won Blitz. (more…)
