Meeting of the IDF Board was held February 25, 2016 in St. Petersburg. At the meeting were discussed issues of calendar 2016 and approved the new IDF regulations. The most important of these are Rules of the game and competitions in draughts-64 (Revised 2016) and Regulations for assignment of international titles IDF (See HERE)

Championships of Uzbekistan among men, women and youth 23 years and younger were held in Tashkent from 18 to 24 February. Competitions were held in three programs – classical, rapid and blitz. 65 players participated.

The world champion, international grandmaster Elena Skovitina won Championship of Moldova 2016 among women. The championship was held from 15 to 21 February 2016 in the capital of Moldova city of Chisinau. Christina Zaruba took second place, Anna Shlyahovskaya took third place on additional criteria. Open Championship of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia) in Russian draughts took place in Kazan (Russia) indoors TSSDYUSHSHOR name R.G.Nezhmetdinov from 21 to 23 February 2016. The competition was attended by players from different cities of Tatarstan and the guests of the Samara region, Republics of Bashkortostan and Chuvashia. The competition was attended one of the strongest players of the world, International Grandmaster Oleg Dashkov. (more…)

New titles in draughts-64 for players and referees was approved on the meeting of IDF Board 10th December 2015. It is automatic titles for 2014-2015 years and titles by norms for previous years. Other titles take into account the World Championship and the World Cup 2015 will be approved at a meeting of of IDF Board in February 2016.

December 10, 2015, during the 2015 World Cup finals in St. Petersburg, was held the IDF Board Meeting. It was discussed the entry of IDF into the international sport association for all TAFISA and the participation of the International Draughts Federation in the TAFISA Games on October 6-12, 2016. Were approved Georgia’s application for the 2016 European Men’s and Women’s Championship and St. Petersburg’s application to host European Youth Championship in the 6 age groups. New international titles for players and referees were approved.
