Information about the 2022 World Cup

Due to covid-19 restrictions in 2021, significant problems with crossing borders and entering some countries, many players were unable to participate in the 2021 World Cup stages, some of the competitions were cancelled.

In connection with this and the requests of the national federations, the IDF Board on 10/03/2022 decided to sum up the results of the 2021 World Cup and hold the 2022 World Cup in 2022. (more…)

World Cup in draughts-64 in Uzbekistan completed

The International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with the Uzbekistan Draughts Federation in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions in 2022 held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, International competition in draughts-64 “Uzbekistan-2022” – World Cup.

William Chinzewe became the new Zambia champion!

Zambia Draughts Federation held on 15th to 17th April 2022 in Olympic Youth Development Centre of Lusaka, capital of Zambia, the Tentani D. Mwanzah Individual Draughts-64 National championship in honor of ZDF Founding President Mr. Tentani D. Mwanzah.

15-old William, Chinzewe became the new Zambia champion and received the title of IDF master!

Match Israel-Portugal

For the first time in history, a delegation of Portuguese draughts players came to Israel and took part in several competitions. It should be noted that this event became possible largely thanks to the International Draughts Federation (IDF) and its leadership, who did a lot for the development of draughts in Portugal.

The events were held with the cooperation of the draughts federations of Israel and Portugal, and the municipalities of the cities of Kiryat Gat and Karnei Shomron, as well as draughts activists, grandmasters Yuri Kirillov, Dmitry Ganopolsky and Nuno Viera from the Portuguese side. (more…)

Competitions in Turkey postponed

Attention! The IDF calendar has been updated.

Due to the situation in Ukraine and in order to ensure the safety of players, coaches and representatives, it was decided to postpone the competitions scheduled in Turkey in April 2022:

1). European Youth Draughts-64 Championship, scheduled from April 23 to May 1, is postponed to October-November 2022. Сompetitions will be held in Turkey.

2) World Cup, scheduled from 23 to 29 April, will be held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, from 6 to 14 May 2022. Regulations will be published soon. (more…)
