New Year’s greetings of Vladimir Langin, president of the International Draughts Federation (IDF)
Dear friends!
On behalf of the International Draughts Federation (IDF) and me personally I congratulate draughts players, coaches, organizers, officials and all fans of draughts on the New Year!
From 19 to 21 November 2021 in Saarbrücken (Germany) the following traditional draughts competitions were held:
a) 11th German Open Championship (November 20 – 21, 2021), Brazilian draughts.
b) 15th International Saarbrücken – Open 100 Draughts Tournament (November 19 – 20, 2021).
The winner of both tournaments was the international grandmaster from Lithuania Aleksej Domcev. IDF master Alexander Bleicher became the winner of the 11th German Draughts-64 Championship.

The International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with the Portuguese Draughts Federation (PDF) in accordance with the Calendar of the IDF and PDF competitions 2021 held from 20th to 27th November 2021 in Albufeira (Portugal) International competition “Portugal – 2021” – Stage of the World Cup 2021 in draughts-64. Competitions were held in three programs – classic, Blitz and Rapid.
Within the framework of the competition, a match in Portuguese draughts was traditionally held: the national team of Portugal against the team of the world, in which the national team of Portugal won with a score of 13:11.
National Grandmaster Tiago Manuel from Portugal won Rapid program. International Master Georgii Taranin from Russia won Blitz and Classic program. (more…)
The Board of Directors of the Pergament Foundation for Draughts-64 in cooperation with the International Draughts Federation (IDF) and the Lithuanian Draughts Federation holds the 1st Pergament Foundation International Invitational Tournament in Draughts-64 from May 31 to June 10, 2022 at the Vilnius Grand Resort hotel in Vilnius, Lithuania.
24 players on a personal list approved by the Board of Directors of the Foundation will take part in the tournament.
The prize fund of the tournament will be $ 35,000. (more…)
From June 13 (arrival day) to June 20 (departure day) 2022, the Kuremaa castle, Jõgeva region (Estonia) will host the International competition “Jõgeva 2022”, which has the status of the 2nd stage of the 2022 World Cup in draughts-64.
Kuremaa Castle is well known to draughts players. The European Draughts-64 Championship among men and women in 2021, the stages of the World Cup in 2018 and 2019 were held here at a high level.
From 8 to 10 October, the finals of the Latvian draughts-64 championships among men and women were held in the cultural center of Bauska. The competition was attended by 9 participants in the women’s competition and 10 participants in the men’s. The tournaments were held in a round robin system, micro-matches of 2 games, time control 25 minutes + 10 seconds. Robert Misans and Marija Magdalena Nereda became the champions of Latvia 2021! The Uzbekistan Youth Team Championship was held from 8 to 15 October in the city of Gulistan (Uzbekistan). Composition of teams: 5 boys and 5 girls, 1 player in each age category (boys, girls up to 20, 17, 14, 11 and 9 years old).
Competitions were held in two programs: Rapid and Blitz.
8 teams took part in the competition.

IDF Board meeting took place on October 2, 2021. The preliminary calendar 2022 was reviewed and approved. According the results of the World Team Championship in Bulgaria and the European Championship in Estonia, new international titles were awarded to the players and arbiters. IDF membership applications reviewed and approved. The issues of the current activities of the federation were considered. (more…)
International Draughts Federation (IDF) according to the decision of the Board holds on August 23, 2021 at Sports Complex “AquaLife”, Kranevo (Bulgaria) during the World Draughts-64 Championships the reporting General Assembly (General Meeting) of the International Draughts Federation (IDF).

International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the calendar of the competitions in 2021 holds together with Jõgeva Draughts Club and the Estonian Draughts Union personal-team European Draughts-64 Championship among men and women. Championship is held from September 10 (arrival day) to September 19, 2021 (departure day) in Kuremaa, Jõgeva region (Estonia) and is qualifying for the World Championship 2022. Alexander Shvartsman (Russia) and Vera Khvaschinskaya (Belarus) became European champions 2021 in Rapid. Ihar Mikhalchenka and Palina Petrusiova (both Belarus) became the European champions 2021 in Blitz. Ihar Mikhalchenka and Yana Yakubovich became European champions in draughts-64! (more…)
