The meeting of the IDF Board took place in St. Petersburg on 15 October. The meeting considered the results of the TAFISA World Sports Games, admission of new members, disciplinary matters, have been approved the new international titles, addressed issues of current activities.

VI TAFISA World Sports Games completed. 12,000 athletes from 87 countries in 62 sports participated in the competition.
The competition was held under the patronage of the IOC, TAFISA and UNESCO. At the opening ceremony, which took place on October 8 at the famous Anchol Park, World Sports Games opened Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the participants welcomed the President of TAFISA, a representative of the IOC and other officials. International Draughts Federation (IDF) according to the calendar of competitions 2016 holds in Jakarta (Indonesia) from 6 to 12 October 2016 International Draughts-64 Competition in the framework of the 6th TAFISA World Sport for all Games 2016. The competition is held with the support of the Foundation for Assistance of development of Draughts Sports “Russian Draughts”. Russian Championship in draughts-64 (Russian draughts) among men and women.
Russian Cup in draughts-100 among men and women.
All-Russia competitions in Russian draughts among boys and girls.

On September 22, the event, which FMJD and its organizer, Mr. Marcos, pathetically called the World Cup, started in Brazil. As everybody can easily see from the “competition” standings, in the tournament are involved official representatives from two countries (Brazil and Poland) and several tourists without applications of their national federations and contrary to federation’s decisions. At the same time the strongest Brazilian draughts players are not allowed to the competitions and “the title” played out between “Marcos’s Sixteen”, not even qualified through national preliminaries. What should pay attention:
World Championships for men and women will be held in October 2017 in St. Petersburg (Russia).
In the older group of Juniors the upper limit for the age increased. Players 26 years and younger will be able to take part in competitions.
We ask all countries to send calendars of national competitions for inclusion in the shared calendar 2017.

Estonian Blitz and Rapid Championships among men and women was held 3th and 4th September in the city of Viljandi. In Men Championships international grandmaster Uutma Arno won Blitz and Rapid. In Women Championships Triis Aneli won Blitz and Viirma Piret won Rapid.
