International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the Calendar of competitions in 2018 held from 17th to 25th November 2018 in Tbilisi (Georgia) Final of World Cup 2018 in draughts-64 – International competition “Georgia-2018”. Competitions were held in three programs: Blitz, Rapid and Classic.

International grandmaster Andrei Valiuk (Belarus) won Blitz and Rapid program. International grandmaster Arunas Norvaishas (Lithuania) won Classic program. See results.

Results of the overall standings of the World Cup 2018 were summarized and awarding the winners was held at the closing ceremony of the Final of World Cup for all categories in accordance with the Regulations of the World Cup 2018.  (more…)

Draughts-64 (Brazilian version): 9th Open German Draughts-64 Championship ( 16- 17 November 2018)
Draughts-100: Saarbrücken–Open Draughts-100 Tournament (17 – 18 November 2018)
International grandmaster Gennady Shapiro (Germany) won 9th Open German Draughts-64 Championship.

On November 10, in the Yerevan Sports School of Sports and Logic Games, the Armenian Draughts-64 Rapid Championship 2018 in Russian draughts among men was held (time control 7 ‘+ 3”). The strongest Armenian draughts players took part in the championship. It was 18 participants from Yerevan, Gegharkunik, Tavush and Syunik. The championship was held in a very tense struggle on the Swiss system in 6 rounds. The IDF master Nshan Alaverdyan took the first place with 11 points. This year he also became the champion of Armenia in the Blitz program (Russian draughts) and have the bronze medal of the international tournament “Armenia 2018”. (more…)

Estonian Blitz and Rapid Championships among men and women  was held 13th and 14th October 2018 in the city of Paide linn. In Men Championships international grandmaster Arno Uutma won Rapid and Arvo Rist won Blitz. Youth Jalg Triinu won Rapid and Marika Azojan won Blitz in Women Championships. See results. (more…)

International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with Portuguese Draughts Federation in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions for 2018 from November 3 (arrival day) to November 10, 2018 (departure day) holds in Portugal 5^th stage of the World Cup 2018 in draughts-64 – International competition “Portugal-2018” and other events in draughts-64.

Portuguese national team won match: Portuguese national team against the world team. National grandmaster from Portugal Nuno Viera won Rapid  in Portuguese draughts. International master  from Russia Dmitrii Melnikov won Blitz in Brazilian draughts. International grandmaster Andrius Kybartas from Lithuania won Classic program in Russian draughts. See results.

For the first time, the International Draughts Federation (IDF) in the framework of the Barbados World Class Checkers & Draughts Festival, together with the festival organizers, held tournaments in draughts-64. Tournaments in Russian draughts, Pool checkers and Brazilian draughts were held. 23 players from 4 countries: Barbados, Haiti, Germany and Russia took part in competitions. The results were determined in each tournament, as well as in the overall standings of three tournaments. The prize fund of the competition was more than 6000 USD. (more…)

International Draughts Federation IDF in accordance with the calendar of the competitions in 2018 together with the Draughts Federation of Bulgaria holds from September 15 (arrival day) to September 24, 2018 (departure day) in Sports complex “Aqua Life”, Kranevo (Bulgaria) personal-team European Draughts-64 Championship 2018 among men and women. Competitions are qualifying for the World Championship 2019. Representatives of 15 European countries take part in the competition.

International grandmasters Arunas Norvaishas (Lithuania) and Elena Scovitina (Moldova) won Blitz program of the European Draughts-64 Championship among men and women respectively. International grandmasters Ihar Mikhalchenka (Belarus) and Elena Scovitina (Moldova) won Rapid. Ihar Mikhalchenka and Vera Khvashchynskaya from Belarus won Classic program. See results.  (more…)

September 22, 2018 in Loo, (Sochi, Krasnodar region) will host the extraordinary report-election General Assembly of Draughts Federation of Russia (FSHR), which will be elected the new composition of its leadership.

On behalf of the General Assembly of the International Draughts Federation (IDF) held on 30.08.2018 in Kranevo (Bulgaria), which was attended by delegates from 29 countries, IDF President Vladimir Langin appealed to the forthcoming in Loo FSHR Assembly, to players, coaches, functionaries, organizers and all fans of Russian draughts.
