International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions in 2019 from August 9 to August 16, 2019 held in Kuremaa, Jõgeva region (Estonia) International competition “Jogeva-2019” having status of 3rd Stage of World Cup 2019 in draughts-64. Competitions were held in the two types of programs: Rapid and Classic.

Traditional Open Draughts Tournament “White Nights-2019” was held from July 13 (arrival day) to July 21 (departure day) 2019 in St. Petersburg (Russia). Three separate competitions were held within the framework of the tournament: an open-tournament among men and women and separate competitions among boys and girls in the age groups 2003-2005, 2006-2008, 2009-2010, 2011 and younger. All competitions were held in two programs: Classic and Blitz. International grandmaster Yevgeny Kondrachenko (Belarus) won open tournaments for men and women in both programs. See results. (more…)

International grandmaster Aleksej Domcev (Lithuania) won Blitz and Rapid. International master Dmitrii Melnikov won Classic program. In women Maryna Kasian (Ukraine) won Blitz, Anna Filipenko (Russia) won Rapid and Svetlana Streltsova (Russia) won Classic program.  (more…)

Asian Championships in draughts-64, Turkish draughts and draughts-100 are held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) from June 19 to July 2, 2019. The Asian Draughts-64 Championship was held from 19 to 25 June under the auspices of the International Draughts Federation IDF and was qualifying for the World Draughts-64 Championship 2019 among men and women, which will be held in Sveti Vlas (Bulgaria) from September 1 to 10. Competitions in draughts-64 were held in the age categories: veterans 60 years and older; men and women; juniors and youths (boys and girls) up to 20, 17, 14, 11, 9 years. Championships of Belarus in draughts-64 among men and women (final) were held from May 24 till June 2, 2019 in the Republican Center of Olympic training for chess and draughts (Minsk, str. of Marks, 10).

International Draughts Federation (IDF)  in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions in 2019 held from April 26 (arrival day) to May 05, 2019 (departure day) at the Sports Complex “Aqua Life” in Kranevo (Bulgaria) personal-team European Youth Draughts-64 Championship 2019. Championship was held separately for boys and girls in the three types of program: Blitz, Rapid and Classic. Representatives from 12 countries took part in the competition. The Association of Draughts in Malawi ADMA successfully conducted from 26 to 29 April, 2019 the most important national events 2019 in the city of Mzuzu at Mphatso Motel as planned.

Finally 40 players went into a strong 6^th Malawi National Championship in which top 5 was identified to represent Malawi in the forthcoming World Championship. International Master Moses Winesi won championship.

The 8th French Draughts-64 Championship (Brazilian version) was held on April 14 in the city of Octeville sur Mer. 12 people played the title of champion of France 2019 in 2 stages. 1st stage was held according to the Swiss system in 5 rounds. Further, in accordance with the places occupied at the 1st stage, players under the Olympic system played places from 1 to 12.
The champion of France 2019 became the IDF master MONNET, Pierre. The IDF master VERBOUK, Félix took 2nd place. The famous international master in draughts-100 MOSTOVOY Georges took 3rd place. See results. (more…)

From April 4 to 7, 2019 in the city of Tartu (Estonia), the 71st Estonian Championship among men and the 63rd Estonian Championship among women in Russian draughts were held. The men’s championship was open. Except for Estonians two representatives of Russia took part in it. The winner of the men’s championship was an international master from Russia Kalachnikov Andrey. The international grandmaster Uutma Arno became the Estonian men’s champion. Master of Sports Unnuk Argo took 2nd place, Väärtnõu Urmas was the third.
In women, the experienced Wiirma Piret became the Estonian women’s champion. She won an additional match against Kuusik Karmen, who finished on 2nd place. Two players took third place – multiple Estonian champion Vainonen Kaari and young Estonian champion of last year Jalg Merilii. (more…)
