Championship of Kazakhstan in draughts-64 among boys and girls in age groups U17, U14, U11 and U9 was held in in the ancient city of Turkestan from March 20 to March 30, 2018. The Uganda Draughts Federation held Open National Individual Draughts-64 Championship (poolcheckers) in Gulu town on 10th March 2018. A total of 22 participants (all men) took part in the Championship.  The championship was held in 9 rounds on the Swiss system, on Rapid game with time control 5 ‘+ 3 “. Stanley Odeke with 14 points won Championship. Isaac Bafaki with 12 points was in 2nd position, George William Omaya from Gulu with 12 points was 3rd and Julius Mwita with 12 points, a draughts player from Kenya, was in 4th position. International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with Uzbekistan Draughts Federation in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions in 2018 hosted from March 24, (arrival day) till April 1, 2018 (departure day) in Tashkent, capital of  Uzbekistan, 2^nd Stage of World Cup 2018 in draughts-64 – International competition “Uzbekistan-2018”.
Competitions was held with the support of the Fund for Promoting the Development of Draughts Sport “Russian Draughts”. International Draughts-64 Tournament among boys and girls in the age groups up to 14, 11 and 9 years on the prizes of the President of Uzbekistan Draughts Federation Yunus Amindjonov for the first time was held from March 24, (arrival day) till April 1, 2018 in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent together with with the 2^nd Stage of World Cup 2018. The prize fund of the tournament was 1000 euros. 5th Online Tournament in draughts-64 (Brazilian draughts) was held in Brazil from 19/02/2018 to 16/03/2018. 112 players from various regions of Brazil and 5 players from other countries took part in competition. As far as we know, this was the biggest online tournament ever realized in Brazil. There were 9 rounds over 1 month of competition after that the top 16 players disputed the Qualifiers in 1/8 finals, 1/4 finals, 1/2 finals and final.

Moldova’s championships among boys and girls U8, U10, U13 finished in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau. Competitions were held in three programs: classic, Rapid and Blitz. More than 70 players from different regions of Moldova took part in the competition. See the results.

Lithuanian Men Championship on Russian draughts was held in Lithuanian capital Vilnius from 13 to 18 March. International Grandmaster Andrius Kybartas became Lithuanian Champion. International Grandmaster Aleksej Domcev took second place and International Master Domantas Norkus was third. 12 players took part in the competition, which was held on a round robin system. From 1 to 7 March 2018 in the city of Samarkand (Uzbekistan) the country championships were held among men, women, juniors (boys and girls) up to 24 years. Competitions were held in three programs: classic, Blitz and Rapid.

Champions of Uzbekistan among men became: International grandmaster Samandar Kalanov in Blitz and Rapid program, Hudoynazarov Ramazon in Classic program. International master Tursunmurotova Shahzoda won championship of Uzbekistan among women in all programs. See the results. (more…)

Youth Championships of Republic of Belarus in draughts-64 among boys and girls in the age groups up to 11, 14, 17, 20 and 27 years were held from 19 to 25 February 2018 in the city of Gomel. International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with Jamaica Draughts Association (JDA) in accordance with the calendar of the competitions 2018 held from 22 till 28 February 2018 in Montego Bay (Jamaica) 1^st Stage of World Cup 2018 in draughts-64 – International competition “Jamaica-2018”.
Competitions were held with the support of the Fund for Promoting the Development of Draughts Sport “Russian Draughts”.
International grandmaster, ex-world champion Arunas Norvaishas (Lithuania) won Rapid and Classic program. International Master Aleknavicius Vilius (Lithuania) won Blitz program.
