International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions in 2022 held in Kranevo (Bulgaria) from August 25 to September 1, 2022 World Team’s Championship in draughts-64. Championship was held separately among men’s and women’s teams in two disciplines: Classic game and Blitz.

The International Draughts Federation (IDF) according to the IDF Board’s decision from 23 June 2022 holds 24 August 2022 in Kranevo (Bulgaria) during the World Draughts-64 Championships the reporting and election General Assembly of International Draughts Federation (IDF).
Vladimir Langin was elected President of the IDF for another term.

From June 14 to June 26, Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, held the Asian Championship in draughts 64, 100 and Turkish draughts. Draughts-64 competitions were held from 14 to 21 June.
Competitions were held in three programs: Classic, Rapid and Blitz in all age categories: men, women, veterans, juniors (boys and girls) up to 23 and 20 years old; boys and girls up to 17, 14, 11 and 9 years old.
More than 200 players took part in draughts-64 competitions.

Following the launch of our Medley tournament format, and the end of the Mind Sports Olympiad’s Grand Prix event, online platform PlayStrategy is starting up a regular series of tournaments: Medley Shields.
There will be three Medley Shields to win that will run on a regular weekly schedule.

From June 13 to June 20, the city of Jõgeva (Estonia) hosts the 11th international draughts-64 tournament “Jõgeva 2022”. Competitions are held in three programs: Blitz, Rapid and Classic.
International grandmaster Guntis Valneris (Latvia) won Rapid. International grandmaster Arno Uutma (Estonia) won Blitz. The Classic program started. Follow the results. (more…)
The MSO Grand Prix 2022 is a brand-new online Mind Sports competition, which took place from April 15 to May 29, 2022 on various online venues across seven game categories.
This was a separate event within the MSO Mind Sports Olympiad. The Olympiad itself, if circumstances permit, will return to its traditional face-to-face format in 2022.

Abdul Hafiz became the winner of the Uganda national draughts-64 championships (poolcheckers and Russian version of draughts-64)!
The first of two UDF annual national poolcheckers draughts championships took place on 8th May 2022 at Hotel D’Venue in Masindi town.
A total of 30 players (28 men and 2 ladies) took part in the championship. (more…)
Due to covid-19 restrictions in 2021, significant problems with crossing borders and entering some countries, many players were unable to participate in the 2021 World Cup stages, some of the competitions were cancelled.
In connection with this and the requests of the national federations, the IDF Board on 10/03/2022 decided to sum up the results of the 2021 World Cup and hold the 2022 World Cup in 2022. (more…)
