Estonian Blitz and Rapid Championships among men and women  was held 3th and 4th September in the city of Viljandi. In Men Championships international grandmaster Uutma Arno won Blitz and Rapid. In Women Championships Triis Aneli won Blitz and Viirma Piret won Rapid.

International Draughts Federation (IDF) in accordance with the Calendar of the competitions in 2016 holds at the Sports Complex «Aqualife», Kranevo, Bulgaria, from August 24, (arrival day) till September 03, 2016 (departure day) World Team’s Championship in draughts-64.

In Blitz program Belarus teams won in men and in women. In Classic program team of Russia (CFO) won in men and team of Belarus won in women.

4th Stage of World Cup – International competition «Cup of Information Technologies» was held from 14^th August to 19^th August, 2016 in Kazan (Russia). International grandmaster, world champion Sergey Belosheev became the winner of the Blitz program. International master Denis Shogin from Kazan won classical program. Under the auspices of the International Draughts Federation IDF from 23th August (day of arrival) to 2th September (day of departure) 2016 in Kranevo (Bulgaria) was held  World Draughts-64 Championship among disabled. July 27, after ending of the first African Draughts-64 Championship President of the International Draughts Federation, 3-time world champion, International Grand Master Vladimir Langin held a short lecture and a session of simultaneous game in Russian draughts for students of Russian Cultural Center of Zambia in Lusaka.
