1st Pan American Draughts-64 Championship

International Draughts Federation (IDF) together with Jamaica Draughts Association (JDA) in accordance with the calendar of the competitions 2018 held from 22 till 28 February 2018 in Montego Bay (Jamaica) 1st Pan American Draughts-64 Championship. Competitions were held in the three types of programs: Blitz, Rapid and Classic.
Competitions were held with the support of the Fund for Promoting the Development of Draughts Sport “Russian Draughts”.
The first champion of Pan America in draughts-64 became the winner of the Blitz program Thomas Rohan (Jamaica). National Grandmaster Alexander Katz (USA) won Rapid program. The IDF master, multiple champion of Jamaica Reid Wayne won the classic program and became the first International Grandmaster  in Jamaica. See results. (more…)

Championship of Moldova among women completed

The Championship of Moldova among women in draughts-64 was held in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau from 9 to 17 February 2018. The competitions were held in three programs: classic, Rapid and Blitz. Champion of Moldova in all three programs become the International Grandmaster, world champion 2017 in Blitz and Rapid Elena Scovitina. See the results and photo.

Latvia’s youth championships completed

Latvia’s youth championships in draughts-64 among boys and girls in the age groups U-8, U-10, U-13, U-16, U-19 were held in Riga from 8th to 11th February.

European Youth Championship will be held in Bulgaria

The calendar of IDF events for 2018 has been updated. See the calendar in the Events section HERE

European Youth Championship in 6 age groups will be held in Sport complex “Aqualife”, Kranevo (Bulgaria) from April 29 to May 8, 2018. For the first time for youth competitions, six players from each IDF member country (one participant in the age groups up to 27, 20, 17, 14, 11, 9 years old – a boy or girl) will be provided with accommodation and meals. Reduced the amount of tournament fees – 50 euros for three players from the country for participation in all three programs. Prices for accommodation and meals for participants (buffet) in the building “Sport” per person per day will be 27 euros in a double room and 25 euros in a triple room. Sport complex “Aqualife” will provide for the participants of the European Championship with two paths in the professional sports pool with heating and fitness room. Invitation for the competition will be published in the near future.

African Championship will be held in Blantyre (Malawi) on 8 – 14 July.

Championships of Belarus among men and women

Championships of the Republic of Belarus in draughts-64 among men and women (the highest league) are held from 22 to 31 January 2018 in Minsk, at the Chess School FIDE (Minsk, Independence Ave. 49, 4th floor).
International Grandmaster Andrey Valiuk became the champion of the Republic of Belarus among men, International Master Vera Khvaschinskaya became a champion among women.

Estonian Championships took place in Saaremaa

The 70th Estonian Men’s Draughts-64 Championship and the 62nd Estonian Women’s Draughts-64 Championship took place from 25 to 28 January on the island of Saaremaa, located in the Baltic Sea.
International Grandmaster Uutma Arno became Estonian Champion among men. Master of Sports Tull Andrus took 2nd place and Väärtnõu Urmas was on the third place.
For women, 16-year-old Jalg Merilii first time became Estonian Champion among women. She bypassed experienced players Wiirma Piret, who took 2nd place, and the multiple champion of Estonia Vainonen Kaari, who took only third place. (more…)

Regulations of the World Cup 2018 published

Regulations of the World Cup 2018 in draughts-64 published HERE

The World Cup 2018 will be held in six stages. Within the framework of the World Cup competitions on various versions of draughts-64: international/Russian, Brazilian, Portuguese and pool checkers will be held. The final stage of the World Cup 2018 will be held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, in November 2018.

Calendar 2018 updated

Calendar of the International Draughts Federation (IDF) competitions in 2018 has been updated. Updated calendar published HERE
The dates of the 4th stage of the World Cup in Jõgeva (Estonia) are shifted by one day. Competitions will be held from July 30 (arrival day) to August 7 (departure day).
The 2nd African Championship will be held from 9 to 14 July in Malawi.
Two new tournaments were added:
The International Tournament among boys and girls up to 14, 11, 9 years on the prizes of the President of Uzbekistan Draughts Federation Yunus Amindjonov will be held together with 2nd stage of the World Cup from March 24 (arrival day) to April 1 (departure day) in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) .
International Draughts-64 Tournament will be held for the first time in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, from May 27 (arrival day) to June 3 (departure day).
